What happens if the period start or end already falls on a working day?

It counts directly as the first or last business day of the period, with no adjustment needed, since it already satisfies the workweek pattern being checked.

Find the first and last working day within a date range, using whichever days of the week you consider working days. This checks the workweek only. It does not exclude holidays (see the holiday-aware engines for that).

Worked example

For January 2027 (which starts on a Friday) with a Monday-Friday workweek, the first business day of the month is January 1 itself (a Friday), and the last is January 29 (also a Friday), since January 31 falls on a Sunday.
