Worked example
A monthly trigger on the 31st, starting January 31, 2027, generates January 31 and then February 28, clamped to February's own last day, the same clamping rule used across the site. With a 5-calendar-day offset applied to each, the resulting rolling deadlines land on February 5 and March 5. Switch that same setup to a weekly trigger every 2 weeks instead, starting from that same January 31 date, and the deadlines space out evenly every 14 days, each one still shifted 5 days past its own trigger.
Common mistakes
- Not noticing that a day-of-month trigger set past 28 clamps in every shorter month, shifting the effective trigger date every February in particular.
- Assuming the occurrence limit of 500 covers an indefinite horizon. A longer series needs a follow-up batch generated from the last trigger date reached.
Limitations
Occurrence generation is capped at 500 to keep the calculation fast and the page usable. For a longer horizon, generate a later batch starting from the last trigger date already produced.
Frequently asked questions
- Can these deadlines be exported to a calendar?
- Yes, use Download .ics to get one milestone per deadline, importable directly into most calendar apps.
- What happens to a weekly trigger that lands on different weekdays over time?
- It never happens, since a weekly trigger always lands on the same weekday as the first trigger date, repeating at the stated interval indefinitely.
