Time Zone Availability Planner
Give each participant's working-hours window and zone, a date range to search, and a minimum overlap you need. Find the first qualifying date.
Worked example
Two participants, each working 9 to 5 in their own zone, America/New_York and Europe/London, already share more than enough overlap for a 60-minute meeting on the very first date checked in the range, since their converted working hours genuinely intersect every single day under this simple pattern. Add a third participant in a zone that barely overlaps with the other two, and the planner may need to scan several dates forward before finding one where all three working-hours windows intersect for the full required length, reporting the first qualifying date it finds rather than every possible one.
Common mistakes
- Searching a range wider than the supported bound. The scan is limited to roughly 90 days per search to keep the day-by-day check fast.
- Assuming a participant's working hours vary by day of the week. Each participant's pattern is treated as identical every day within the searched range.
Limitations
Each participant's working-hours pattern is assumed to be the same every day in the searched range. It does not vary by day of week, so a participant with a different schedule on weekends needs a separate search for that portion.
Frequently asked questions
- What happens if no date in the range actually qualifies?
- The result states that directly, that no date within the searched range meets the required overlap length, rather than reporting a false or approximate match.
- How wide a date range can I search at once?
- The search is bounded to roughly 90 days, which keeps the day-by-day scan fast while still covering more than enough calendar time for most scheduling needs.
