Timesheet Period Calculator

Enter each day's already-totaled worked hours for a period (a pay period, a week). See the period total, the daily average, and, optionally, which days exceeded a stated daily threshold.

Need to total one day's punches first? See Time Card Calculator.

Worked example

Five daily totals of 8 hours each add up to 40 hours for the whole period, an 8-hour daily average, with none of the five days individually exceeding an optional 9-hour daily threshold if one is set. Change one of those five days to 10 hours instead, and the period total grows to 42 hours, the daily average rises slightly to 8.4 hours, and that single day is now flagged as exceeding the 9-hour threshold, while the other four days are not. The threshold check runs independently for each entered day, so a single long day does not distort how the other days in the same period are reported.

Common mistakes

  • Entering raw clock punches here instead of already-totaled daily hours. This engine aggregates daily totals you already have. Use the Time Card Calculator first to total each individual day from its own punches.
  • Setting a daily threshold that does not match the actual policy being checked against, which flags days that are not really a problem, or misses ones that are.

Limitations

This aggregates the daily totals you supply directly. It does not recompute punches, breaks, or rounding on its own, and it makes no wage, overtime, or payroll compliance determination.

Frequently asked questions

Is the daily threshold required?
No, it is optional. Leave it blank to see just the period total and the daily average with no exceedance flags at all.
How many days can one period include?
Enter however many days the actual pay or reporting period covers, from a short weekly period to a longer monthly one.
