Worked example
Five business days split into 2 segments gives 3 days and 2 days, since the count does not divide evenly and the earlier segment absorbs the extra day, counting actual working days rather than calendar days. Split that same five-day range into 3 segments instead, and the result comes back as 2 days, 2 days, and 1 day, the leftover distributed to the earliest segments first rather than the last one.
Common mistakes
- Assuming the segments always come out equal in length. A count that does not divide evenly by the number of segments necessarily produces some segments longer than others.
- Counting calendar days instead of actual working days when checking the split by hand. Weekends and any entered exclusions do not count toward any segment's length.

This checks the selected workweek only, with no holiday preset applied automatically. A specific date needing exclusion should be added separately rather than assumed.
