Weekday Count in Date Range
Count how many Mondays, Tuesdays, and so on fall within a date range, useful for estimating how many of a weekly recurring event happen in a period.
Worked example
January 1 through February 1, 2027 spans 31 days. Since January 1, 2027 is a Friday, the range contains 5 Fridays, 5 Saturdays, and 5 Sundays, but only 4 each of Monday through Thursday: after 4 full weeks (28 days), the 3 remaining days are Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, each getting one extra occurrence.
Limitations
This counts weekdays only; it does not exclude holidays. For a working-day count that excludes holidays, see Business Days & Work Calendar.
Frequently asked questions
- Does the count include the end date?
- No, the range is half-open: the start date counts, the end date does not.
